Yesterday was Lil Man’s last day of school! It was a bitter sweet day. I was on the verge of tears all day… It was the end of 3rd grade… the end of his having his favorite teacher… the end of the school building for him.
Next year Lil Man will be going into 4th grade!!! I can’t believe it. He will be going to a new building next year… closer to home (so that means no bus)… He’s nervous about what teacher he will get. He’s scared he will get a mean teacher and honestly I am too… 1st and 2nd grade Lil man didn’t like his teachers and I am not sure if they liked him… and let me tell you… it was hell at home because of it… Fighting everyday about getting up and going to school… fighting everyday afterschool because he would be in trouble… fighting everyday because he would have a bad attitude from dealing with the teacher.. It honestly was just miserable. His teacher this year was amazing. He was young, he was down to earth, on the kids level and a Christian… and all of that combined made him awesome!
So I will continue to pray… that next year will be great… his teacher will be great and it will be another awesome!!
I got his teacher a little gift for the last day… I couldn’t do much as I am slightly broke at this time! Lol. but I wanted something to show my thanks. So I put together a little survival kit. Lol.
It included:
Pencil- To write down all the things he learned this year
Sticky Notes- Little reminders to always stick together
Crayon- to color his day bright and colorful
Eraser- to erase the mistakes along the way
Paper clip- to hold it all together
Shiny Penny- to remind him- each student will shine in their own way
Ear Plug- for when he just can’t take anymore
Band Aid- to fix any hurt feelings
Candle- to light his way when things seem darkest
Quarter- to call a friend anytime you need advice, a shoulder to cry on, a kind work or just to vent.
I hope he likes it.

After I picked up Lil Man, they had a school picnic- he played football with some of the other kids… and then we got baby girl and headed to the pool. It’s tradition with me and lil man that on his last day of school, we do something together.. this year he wanted to go swimming and wanted his sister to come a long! It was a lot of fun!! I think the kids enjoyed it. J
