Journal Day!

Danielle over at Sometimes Sweet started this wonderful new series on her blog called “Journal Day”

Once a week she will offer up a prompt to help us- her readers to write a journal entry for the day.  I love it!!!  If you love this idea- please go and check out her blog- let her know you found out about this from me and that you love if and you wanna join… or you just love reading it! J

The first prompt is:

Describe a "first" (first date, first lie, the first time you experienced something, first time in a particular setting, etc). Include as many details as possible to paint a picture.

HHMMM… a first…  I guess I will write about my first date.. since I was just talking about it over the weekend with one of my good friends.  My first date with LD. My high school sweet heart, father of my wonderful LIL MAN, my (now ex) husband and once best friend. 

I was 15 and him 16. It was my freshman year in high school and LD finally had the never to talk to me.. write me lil notes and eventual ask me out on a date.  J  But since we both were so young… neither of could drive yet… my wonderful father came along on our date!   His mom dropped him off at my dad’s house and off we went.  To a dinner and a movie.  We went and saw Anaconda (so romantic!!). My dad wanted to sit in between us at the theater.. but I didn’t give him the chance and went into the row first.. LD in the middle and my dad at the end.  I am sure LD felt even more nervous sitting next to MY father!! Lol.  We held hands and shared pop corn.  I don’t remember if LD paid for my ticket or my dad. Lol. I do remember tho on the way to the theater… in my dad’s pick up truck.. I let LD sit in front and I sat in the little mini seat in back.. I was leaning up front thru the middle so I could be closer to LD and I was singing along to No Diggity by Blackstreet. Lol.  After the movie we went to a small local restaurant (same one my mom and dad actually went on dates to).  And had burgers, fries and sodas… I remember LD going into the bathroom and coming out smelling like a french whore! Haha. He sprayed probably half of the bottle of cologne on in the batheroom… Aspen. I will never forget that smell. *swoon*.  After dinner we went to drive LD back home… and on the way there we realize we are taking him to my Aunts old house!! They bought the house from Aunt, years ago!! How is that for FATE!!  LD invites us in to see the house and so my dad could meet his parents… And when we went it his mom came out with a shoe box filled with old pictures of  MY family!!  It was awesome. It brought back so many memories being there… I hadn’t been in that house since I was probably 6 years old!!  I learned to swim in the inground pool out back!!  It was so wonderful yet odd…  LD and I snuck down to the basement/rec room for a quick makeout session while the parents talked… and before long I had to head home. J  It was such a wonderful first date!! J
