Back to School shopping!

So I did the back to school/first day of school clothes shopping last night... It was fun.. Baby girl is such a girl!!  I took her with me to do the clothes shopping.. She picked out the cutest outfit for her first day of preschool!!

Aint it cute!!! But it came to $50!!! I about crapped myself!!! But its her first first day of school  EVER!!!  And I am not going out and buying a whole new wardrobe for school... This will be it. lol.

I got lil Man his clothes. I didn't have him with me cause his are simple. He has to wear a uniform.  So its just a standard outfit... nothing special to pick out...

So simple... and his was only $33 for the outfit...  Still have to get him a few more shirts and a couple more pants and he will be good for the year.  I hope he likes the shoes.. and they fit. :-)

So along with their school clothes shopping.. I tried to find me a bathing suit. NO SUCCESS.  I found one a Walmart.. and bought it.. but am going to return it. I don't like it enough.  I also had a $10 off $10 purchase from J.C. Penny so I picked me up 2 cute t-shirts and only had to pay $2!!! Can't beat that!!    This is one of the shirts I got.

Pick at least 10 questions to answer. You can have more, but you must at least have 10.  Answer with much thought and detail- remember, we are getting to you know (its a tell all!)

  • What is one of your happiest memories?
  • Going to New York City with my Daughter for her HS Graduation present. We stayed in NJ and took the train over every morning we walked that city from end to end. I grew to know her more as an adult when she chose to visit the United Nations and spoke with diplomats, to see the Guggenheim and knew the exhibits.  I was a bar hopping party chick my entire life, especially at her age.  To know the person that your child has become and realize they are a far better person not because of you but in spite of you, is amazing.
  • What’s one of the most meaningful gifts you’ve received?
  • What’s one of the most loving things someone has done for you?
  • Held my hand and cried for me as I lay in a coma, then put my childrens pictures on a board over my bed so when I opened my eyes they would be the first thing I saw, my reason to fight.
  • What’s one of the most loving things you’ve ever done for someone?
  • What music, poetry, art, books, or movies have most inspired you and why?
  • What's one of the best places you've ever traveled? My life has been awesome. I was born in Thailand, traveled to Germany and around a lot as a child, been to nearly every state in the US and cruised my entire family to Cozumel and Cancun.  I think every place is full of beauty but it's up to the person to make the best of it and find that beauty. Oddly enough a cave in KY  was probably one of the best.  We were passing through the state on a road trip and saw signs,  I like adventure so we went, it was really amazing.
  • What's one place you'd still like to visit and why?  I always knew I would see France, I took French for 4 years in preparation. I studied fashion.  I often thought I would live in Paris or the French countryside for at least 1 season.  I have never been.
  • If you had only 6 months left to live, what would you want to be sure   to experience?
  • Unfortunately there has been more than 1 time in my life that I was given an "expiration date"  Even though very fortunately now like everyone else I don't know when I will die, I am limited to where  and what I can do.   So my warning to all.  Do not put it off, if you want to experience it in your life. DO IT.  Don't sit around one day saying, I really wish I could have done that.
  • What are you most grateful for? Why?
  • Life, it is too precious. Even when filled with pain. With pain you realize you are alive and if you can smile and laugh and love the ones around you, then you are truly alive.
  • What’s one of the nicest things you’ve ever done for yourself?
  • What's the best compliment anyone has ever paid you?
  • What do you value most in yourself?
  • What contribution in your life are you most proud of?
  • What were you doing 10 years ago?
  •  was running an up and coming IT company wheeling and dealing in high dollar contracts thinking wow I finally made it this is life. And just becoming friends with one of the top 5 friends of my life.
  • Where do you want to be in 10 years?
  • Alive, cognitive and with the people I love.
  • what is your biggest pet peeve?
  • Loud eaters.  The people who breathe heavy, moan and sigh while eating.  It makes me nauseous, but people who don't watch their own children because you are around and they assume you will, pisses me off BIG TIME.
  • what is your dream vacation?
  • Obviously it would include France, not just Paris but all of France.  I would like to see Ireland and Scotland and of course duh Rome and Italy, Ok just put me down for a very long not rushed extended tour of Europe.  But I would like to take my son and my husband to every state in the US.  Europe I would want to spend with my daughter.  Tropical islands I would like to visit with friends.  So I guess about a year long around the world tour would be fine with me.
  • What is your favorite website or blog and why?

Oye is it a Monday!

Well today has started off marvelously! Happy Monday folks!!!

So far today... I have had about 2hrs of sleep...  Drove  rode in the passenger seat for 2 1/2hrs... then came to work...  only to talk to two ex's and end up pissing both of them off... doing I am not even sure what!

This is going to be an insanely busy week.  Tonight after work I have to run up to the college and try and get my financial aid figured out.  Got a crap ton of laundry to do... (my son cleaned his room finally... and he thinks its easier for me to wash his clothes and fold them and put them back in the laundry basket in his room for him to put away than it is for him to put the clean clothes away in the first place).   Tomorrow is our weekly mother daughter night out. We normally go shopping or something with the kids... I am thinking maybe it will be a school clothes shopping trip.  Baby girl has her orientation for preschool on Friday... I still can't believe she's going to start preschool already!!  I need to get together with my bff so our dogs can play together some...
I am planning on coloring my hair pink this week too.. probably friday... I might chicken out tho.
All of start school in a couple weeks.. me and baby girl on the 23rd and lil man on the 25th!  This summer has flown by... and that also means... my bf is going to be going home.. :-(
I am really nervous about school. I haven't been since before lil man was born!! aaahh!!!  I hope I do good...  I also want to start working out... My bf had the p90x videos... So I am thinking about starting that..

I just hope I can stick with all of this!!!

Hope the Mondays good for you all!!

God Bless

Story Time Thursday-4

Ramon looked stunned. He couldn't believe that I. Just. Kissed. Him. He looked over at Izzy and apologized. Izzy just looked at him and said "its cool man, she ain't my girl" and then walked over to me laughing. He told me what Ramon said and his reply. I just laughed and walked over to JoAnn.
It was Monday all too soon. I had a lot of fun going out with JoAnn and everyone on Saturday night. Ramon had text me all day Sunday and was now emailing me.  I tried to concentrate on work, but I really couldn't.  I knew he wasn't good for me.. Hell he was married, but I couldn't stop thinking about him.
Aaron walked into the office and seen me smiling to myself.  New man? he asked. I said no. I don't know what you are talking about. Aaron new me better than that. He was my ex. I had hooked up with him as soon as my marriage had gone south. He was 12 years older than me and going through a divorce too. And some how... this man knew me better than even my husband did. Maybe that's what attracted to me to him in the first place? We didn't last very long tho. As fun as it was and as good as he was too me...  it got old. We had our different ideas and honestly I really couldn't handle the drinking every single night There were so many nights I would come over in the middle of the night to spend the rest of it with him, and he wouldn't remember me being there. That hurt more than I even realized at the time.  The last straw between me and Aaron was when I went over that one evening and he wasn't home. I waited for him for about 3 hours and when he got home  from the bar he had the audacity to accuse me of cheating on him.  I walked out of his house that night and never went back.
It was tough the first month working together after that. But we managed and soon became friends again. There was still a chemistry between us but wasn't as strong as it once was, I guess because I knew that we could never be and could never last. But he was a good friend to me none the less.
I can tell you have a new man in your life. I can see it in your eyes. You are glowing. Aaron taunted me. I again denied anything.  Told him he was crazy. I am not seeing anyone, nor do I want to be. I am not ready for all of that.
He just laughed... and OK.. you can try and fool yourself, but you can't fool me.  And then walked back to his office...
Damn, he knows me too well.

My Mama's Bday

Today is my mom's birthday.
So I took a 1/2day off work.. We are heading up to the islands for the day as a family. This is something we do every year. The kids love going on the big ferry across the lake.. We alway bring fries of bread and feed the seagulls off the back of the ferry.
I am looking forward to this.  I know the kids are too.

We really don't do anything wild and exciting over at Put-n-Bay. We normally just rent a golf cart for a few hours... drive around the island. Go into a few shops.  Hang out at the park. And really just enjoy the day.

After Put-n-Bay we will go into Sandusky and have dinner. (I really can't wait for that.. I'm starving!)
Then after dinner.. we head back to my mom's for cake and ice cream and for her to open her bday gifts. :-)

We do this every year... for at least the last 9 years. :-)

Last year we did an all day cruise to the islands which was nice...  We started out in Sandusky at 8am. Boarded the ship. Went to Kelly's Island for an hour or so.. had lunch/breakfast. Walked around a bit. Boarded the ship again.. and headed to Put-n-Bay. Hung out there for a few hours... We couldnt find a golf cart, so we just did some walking around.  Then boarded the ship again.. and headed back to Sandusky and went to dinner.
It was a great time, tho I was exhausted by the end of the trip!

anywho..

Mom,
I hope you have a wonderful birthday!!! I love you!

God Bless

Tell All Tuesday-2

Name/Nickname/AKA - Holly HoJo
Blog Address (if have one): http://midwesternmamah.blogspot.com/
Age (approx) - Lordy Lordy ... Im over 40
Occupation: Domestic Goddess - before I was appointed as this, I worked in the medical field for 20+ years

What is one of your happiest memories?
When my children were born. Without a doubt. I was high risk with both pregnancies and between my son and daughter ( who are   five years apart) I lost two babies. One at 7 mos gestation and one around 8 weeks. Just to be able to have them in my life is itself a miracle.

If you had only 6 months left to live, what would you want to be sure to experience? I wouldn't change a thing. I would be much as I am now. Ive lived a pretty wild, full life, so I would want my last days to be with my family.

What’s one of the nicest things you’ve ever done for yourself?
Forgave myself for things that happened in the past.

What's the best compliment anyone has ever paid you?
You're so much like you're father.

What were you doing 10 years ago?
I was just coming out of a very bad situation in my life. I was struggling to make ends meet and working two full time jobs...

Where do you want to be in 10 years?

Living by the beach. By then my daughter will be out of college, and the husband and I will be retired, living and loving on a beach somewhere.

Have you ever changed clothes in a vehicle?
Ha Ha Ha - I wrote the book on changing clothes in a car

Were you driving, someone else driving, or parked?
ALL of the above !

When you looked in the mirror today what did you think?
After I stopped screaming and convinced myself my mother had NOT come back from the dead, I decided it was time to color the hair again and then immediately Googled "Best Wrinkle Creme on the market"

What has been your favorite age so far?
For as much as I kid about it, now is the best time. Sure Im older, and my bones crack and ache, but Im better now than I have ever been! Age does bring wisdom.

Do you wash your hands every single time you use the restroom?
Oh GOD YES!! AND I close the lid before flushing.. because the particles of  that stuff can fly into the air.

If you were to die this evening with no opportunity to communicate with anyone, what would you most regret not having told someone?
No regrets... ever. I make sure people know how I feel about them.. because you just never know
