Weekend

We had an absolutely amazing weekend!! We celebrated lil mans bday on Friday night with a sleep over with a couple of his friends.   It was a fun night!  We had a cook out and tons of snacks for them. We had a fire and smores.

They jumped/wrestled on the trampoline. Played xbox,. Wrestled in the house. And surprisingly didn't make as big of a mess as I expected. :-)
Tho my son's room is absolutely trashed! haha.  In the morning I made them bacon, eggs, toast, pancakes, and french toast.

After that we went up to the park and played for a bit until the one kid's mom came to pick him up. The other kid ended up staying another night. :-)

Saturday night my boyfriend Brett cooked us spaghetti for dinner and then we loaded up his van with pillows and blankets and headed off to the drive in movie theater to watch Iron Man 3 and Oz.  Which we only end up watching Iron Man 3.. or I should say baby girl and myself only ended up watching the movie cuz all the boys were out cold!!  So after the first movie we packed back up and headed home again.

Sunday we went to church and then afterwards Brett invited his buddy over for a cook out.  His buddy ended up cooking for us! :-)  It was nice to have company and just sit back and relax some! After dinner we took the kids to the park and I ended up meeting most of Bretts family.
We came home and Brett cleaned my house for me!!!  I got a load of laundry into the washer, packed lunches and got baby girl tucked into bed for the night.  Lil man stayed up playing xbox and then brett went and played with him for a bit!  I seriously was in awe!!

But now its back to reality.
Hope ya'll have a great Monday and a great week!!!  I know mine is jammed packed, between baseball, getting things for the roof of my garage to be repaired, finish up birthday shopping, and taking lil man out to get his baseball pants, cleats, and socks, AND  celebrating Lil Man's birthday at some point... lol.  Fun Filled day!!!  :-)

I can't wait to go again.  Now Lil Man and his Lil Buddy wanna learn how to play hockey. HHMMM... that could be a good idea... one way to get out some pent up aggression and get out some of that unused energy that seems to come out in the post inopportune times. :-p

wonderful son

Hello all my wonderful readers!!! J

All I have been able to think about today is my wonderful son.  How even in all my frustration.. he amazes me.

Last night we were talking and he told me how he was invited to a friends house in a couple weekends… and I told him it was fine if he wants to go. He said no. Him and the boy aint friends. He doesn’t like him anymore. This was a kid that he was friends with and has known since kindergarten. I asked him why?? He said because the kid swears too much!  I couldn’t believe that was a reason. But then I think back and when we watch movies that have adult language in them.. he is always saying “man I wish they would quit swearing” or would apologize if it was a movie he picked out saying that he didn’t know that there were going to swear!

My Lil Man is growing up!! And even tho we bump heads from time to time. And I wonder sometimes how I am doing as a mother because more often than not I feel like I am a failure…. I am so proud of him… I am proud of the maturity he shows in situations…  he is still a kid and still makes kid choices and mistakes… but when it comes down to him… I am so proud of him!!!

He is my heart.

Lil Man's birthday (belated post)

This past Sunday we celebrated my Lil Man’s 9th birthday!!!  I was going to post yesterday but didn’t get the chance to L.  We focused more on his birthday than mother’s day… because if it wasn’t for him… I wouldn’t have been called mother for the last 9 years!!

I still can’t believe its been 9 years already!!!  I still remember the day he was born. Perfectly.  The day before I went to the doc for my weekly check up. He did the normal checking of everything and realized I was 1cm dialated. He said alright. We will induce you tomorrow. I jumped at it!! I was so ready to get that baby out of me. Looking back (and same with my daughter… I wish just a lil bit that I waited for it all to happen naturally.) I was already on maternity leave so I didn’t have to worry about that but I had to tell my fiancé and let him know he needed to get at least the next day off.  I was to be down at the hospital at 7am the next morning.   That night I walked a couple miles with my mom and my puppy… hoping maybe to get things started naturally… Nothing… When my fiancé got home from work (he worked 2nd shift) we stayed up and chatted some and then went to lay down… my puppy came up to me and started scratching at my belly almost like trying to dig the baby out. He knew! J  The next morning I was so tired… I woke up late and didn’t make it to the hospital till like 730/800. Yea. Im always late! Lol. I got in and they got me into a room.  Started IV’s and everything with me… at 930 they started the pitocin.  Everything was cool. My mom and my fiancé went down to the cafeteria and got some food.. They came back in and ate in front of me!!! I was so hungry… and the food smelled so good. Ugh.  The nurse came in and asked how I was do. I told her fine. She asked me if I was having any contractions… I told her I was. She asked me if I was in any pain. I told her nope I was good.  She checked me out and they decided to break my water… it was about 1030 or so.  As soon as the water broke… I. felt. Every. Single. Contraction. OMG!  She came back in a lil bit later and asked if I wanted an epidural. I said yes!!!  They came back in and got me all set up with that.  And everything was so much more better!  They came in and talked about putting a cathereter in me because of the epidural. I really didn’t want that. So I asked what did I have to do to not get it.. They said Pee. So I did. In the bedpan of course. As my mom took my picture! (I love my family).  A bit later the nurse came in and said it was time… She went and called the doc and then  came in and got everything set up. The doc showed up  The nurse held one leg/knee up towards my chest… she had my mom hold the other and my fiancé right next to my head. The doc told my fiancé to count for me to push, count to ten. He counted in his head. LOL . The doc looked at him and said you need to count outloud. She needs to be able to hear you. J  He started counting… another nurse yelled from the door- Sweetie theres a gentleman out here with a cane and glasses, he says he’s your father do you want him to come in??  At that point I didn’t care who seen me with my legs spread open and all my lady parts hanging out…. I just wanted that baby out. So he came in and my mom started to feel faint- She asked my dad to take over holding my leg and he did…  The baby started coming out… the doc had to do an episiotomy (they cut a slit from my vagina to my butthole) and omg!!! That hurt so bad. At that moment I let out a moan and the nurse is like sweetie- no point in crying out now.. we are almost done you haven’t made a sound this whole time! I wanted to punch her. Lol.
Lil Man  5/8/02 7lbs 5oz
At 1234 my precious Lil Man was born. They put him on my stomach and I started crying. I was so happy!! That was the best moment of my life.

Its been 9 years. 9 years of loving. 9 years of learning. Of ups and downs. Happy times. Sad times. Of times where I questioned my parenting skills. Where I felt like I was a failure. Where I felt like I got this. I am a good mom.  9 years of being a mom. 9 years dedicated to my Lil Man.

I love you Lil Man!!

Wordless Wednesdays-7

It won't be completely Wordless today!! lol. But I need to explain these. :-)

Rey Mysterio

Lil Man's class and the other 3rd grade class had to do their monthly book report reading biography on a famous person. Lil Man chose Rey Mysterio.  At the end of the month instead of doing the typical write down what the book is about type of book report, they did a wax museum Which was awesome!!
All the kids had to dress up as their character. Then they all went to the gym and the school and parents go to come. In front of each student was a "button" and when you pushed their "button" they would recite a few lines about their character.  I loved it!
I even did Rey Mysterio type tattoos on Lil Man's arms. Now he doesn't want to take a shower to wash them off :-( lol.
His friends must think I am a pretty cool mom because they were all asking him if the tattoos were real!! Yep. I let my 8 year get tatted up!!! lol

mom/son date

I took lil man out bowling last night, just me and him. We don't really get that much alone time with each.other, and def not as much as baby girl and I do. So I like to try and have a one on one day with him once a month just so we can reconnect and have some fun. Just me and him. I've sacked on this the last few months tho but it is something that I plan on doing in the future. We went bowling last night and howled 3 games. It was a lot of fun and of course I beat him which he didn't like very much. But I don't want him to always win, he need to learn how to lose too and its not the end of the world if you do lose. I think he had a lot of fun, I know I did.

Flat Stanley

My son had a project for school called Flat Stanley.  They mailed a letter and Flat Stanley to a Grandparent or other family/friend  of each of the kids in the classroom. The Grandparent then took Flat Stanley around with them for a week... capturing everything on camera and then write a letter and send him back to the school with the letter and pictures.  I thought this was really cute. So I wanted to share this with everyone.
The letter from my son:

Said this: (in his own words/writing etc)
Dear grandma,
I am sending my flat stanley to you Plese take him with you when you go places. If you can take picutres of staley when you go places together. Plese write me a Leter about stanley's visit. After his one week visit, plese return stanly to me at shool. have fun. yore friend, peyton

This is what my mom sent back:

Saying this:
Dear Peyton,
It has been my great pleasure to have your friend, Flat Stanley, visit with us this week.
Its been a whirlwind kind of week. We wanted to show Flat Stanley so many things that we do as a family. I have included some pictures I took of Stanley and us and places we went. Stanley was a little shy at first, but he quickly got over that.
How that boy eats! Om my gosh! Grampy and I took him out to a restaurant and he wanted to order everything from the adult menu. We had to explain to him that they have a menu made especially for boys his age. So he ordered spaghetti and we quickly found out that it was his favorite food. We also took him grocery shopping. Now I know he's been to a grocery store before, but really, he wanted everything!
He loves to play basketball and did so with you when you came to visit us too. I took him to work at the Wal-Mart bakery one day, but he go so excited with all the cakes, breads and whatnot, that I had to take him back to the lunchroom and home; too much sugar, I think.
He did not have any problems sleeping and I let him sleep in your bed when you come to spend the night. He rode your sisters tricycle, watched some television, helped me bake cookies, played basketball, read a book, helped me pick out flower plants for my garden, sat in your old high chair for meals, rode a tricycle, played games on my computer and helped Grampy work in his wood-finishing shop. All in all, he said he had a wonderful-good time, and I know we really enjoyed having him visit. He is more than welcome to come and visit again. and soon, I hope. Next time, can you come along too?
I love you Peyton. Thank you very, very much for giving me the privilege and the honor and trust to have your friend Flat Stanley, come to our house to visit.
I love you a whole big bunch
